Is poker only for those blessed with an innate ability to be very good at mathematics? Nope. On the other hand, poker can be played with even those who did not formally finish their schooling. As long as you can read numbers, you can play poker. Those who are familiar with statistics have an advantage, of course. They can understand the idea of probabilities, permutations and combinations, the idea of which will be very helpful in playing poker. Those with advanced mathematical capabilities have an extreme advantage, because they can instantaneously calculate the remaining hands – but this is for the extremely genius. But aside from these, you also need to master being able to display a poker face, or being able to hide your true reactions. You can do this by getting some poker DVDs like the Mastering Bluffs and Tells Instructional DVD. This can be found among poker supplies. Practicing on your poker face can be your ace when playing poker. As long as your adversaries cannot tell what you have on your hand, you stand at an equal advantage with the rest of the players. However, once they know your hand, or if they have an indication of what cards you are holding, then they already have a very powerful information. And they will certainly use it to their advantage. So it is very important to practice a poker face, and also practice how to tell lies and bluffs so that you have a better chance at winning at poker.

Gambling such as poker has recently received some glamour status, but it has not always been the case. There were times when poker was viewed as something that ruins lives and causes people to give the shirt off their back. Watching movies, you may think that the Money Train may never have been robbed if gambling was not invented. This may be true, but in the end it is always the gambler who is responsible for all the effects, good and bad, and not the gambling per se. If you’d like to gamble, in particular play poker, make sure you have some tools to help you advance your chances of gaining money, and not losing them. One way to gain some skills even before you go near the poker tables is to grab some poker DVDs like the Cheating at Hold’em Poker DVD which can help you better understand the game. Of course, cheating is not really advisable. If you are playing with friends and colleagues, cheating will definitely jeopardize your relationship and if you do it at the poker tables in one of those casinos, you are even risking a criminal case, which obviously you wouldn’t like. Just use the DVD as a guide to help you better understand the game, know the uncommon stuff that average players won’t know, and use it to your advantage, in a legal way, of course. This should hopefully help you take good care of your money and even better, help you gain some more.

product image 1559 Making a Career Out of a Game of PokerPoker is no longer a simple gambling game you want to play with your college friends on a Friday night or something that you do in Las Vegas when you have the time and the money. For some people, playing poker on poker tables has become a legitimate source of income.

We are talking here about professional poker players who are now rich and famous millionaires because of their love, dedication and skill in the game of poker. If you are one of those poker players out there who believe that there actually exists a future in the game, here is a treat for you: poker DVDs hosted and conceptualized by our poker heroes themselves.

Professional poker players did not reach the epoch of their gaming passion to the extent that it has become a career, by choice, without spending their time practicing and getting all aspects of the game all covered. Potential poker players like us are lucky to have poker DVDs such as DVD - Phil Hellmuth’s Million Dollar Tournament. During their time, they had to rely on their own strategies to win a poker game. If they were able to read books about poker and ask tips, they only circulated among themselves, alienating those who are not yet ready to take poker gaming to a professional level.

That is why, only a few of them have found poker as a viable means of living. But now that books and other multimedia tools on poker is already existing, most hobbyists and enthusiasts become interested on making a career out of poker. The only contradiction that prevents them is the stability of their work. Phil Hellmuth’s Million Dollar Tournament will try to change all that and hopefully, you’ll be fully enlightened on how a game of poker could really change your life for the better.

Teaching An Old Dog New Tricks

Posted by admin | Poker DVDs | Saturday 6 June 2009 12:07 am

My poor Dad wasn’t doing to great. He was getting older and since my Mom died he didn’t really get out much. He eventually decided that he would move into a retirement complex because he couldn’t keep the house clean and tidy.

When he moved he made a whole new bunch of friends. They were all very nice and polite but he couldn’t find anyone who he would happily spend the evening chatting with. He soon noticed that a lot of the men would disappear on evenings and wondered where they all went. He asked around and found that there were nightly poker games being held in the community hall. He rang me and told me all about it. He desperately wanted to join in so he had something to do in the evenings but he didn’t have a clue as to how to play poker. I told him I’d keep my eye out for a poker DVD. Sure enough I found the perfect one. Beat the pros DVD. I sent it to him and he watched it over and over again. Soon he was ready to play and would you believe it but he made $100 on his first night! I did warn him that he might want to tone it down a bit because he wouldn’t win friends if he kept taking their money! Nevertheless he has still made some friends and he really enjoys his evenings and happily plays poker until well past their bedtime (9pm).
